Orbit

Orbit exists for a specific situation: roles where your resume is itself a work sample. When a design lead reviews an applicant for a visual role, the document is evidence. A default single-column layout in a system font answers the question "can this person make considered visual decisions?" with a shrug. Orbit gives you a composed layout with a deliberate palette, without requiring you to build something from scratch in design software and lose the ATS-safe text layer.

The soft palette is the point of difference from Volt, the other creative template. Volt is high-contrast and energetic; Orbit is warm and restrained. Restraint reads as more senior. Loud visual choices on a resume can signal enthusiasm at a junior level and signal poor judgement at a senior one, so the choice between them is partly a seniority decision, not just a taste one.

The header sits inside the sidebar rather than across the top, which produces the vertical name-and-contact stack you see in editorial layouts. This is a stronger visual composition than a top banner, but it does mean your name occupies less horizontal space — worth checking the preview if you have a long name or a long current title.

One honest caveat: any two-column layout is marginally more work for an applicant tracking system than a single-column one. Modern parsers handle it fine, and most employers in creative fields use modern systems. If you are applying through a large corporate portal and cannot find out what it runs, keep an Element version of the same resume for those applications — the builder makes switching templates a single click, so maintaining both costs almost nothing.
